Warning: cyclocross ramble!

Twitter was full of cute jokes about how they didn’t realize this was the Belgian National Championship, and wait, wasn’t the Belgian National Championship a few weeks ago? and I predict a Belgian is going to win! and it sure was nice to let other nations take part in the Belgian National Championship. But they were funny because they were right.

I loved the jokes because they were true! Belgium totally rocked! Sure, they were helped by the sandy course and the race being in Belgium. But all 7 Belgian guys are pro’s and train and work hard and the competition among Belgians really helps and all of it payed off!

Now we just need some other nations to get good at cyclocross so that it can become a bigger sport and grow! Because it is one of the most entertaining sports to watch! You know its going to be an hour long, you know you’ll see a battle for the win, and you know it will be a spectacle with the way the course is and the weather conditions even! 

I do not understand how its not a bigger sport! Because for tv filming its relatively easy to do! You just need a couple of strategically placed camera’s due to them doing laps. And its fun for spectators because you are close to the riders, you see them pass about 8 times and the general atmosphere is great!

Okay, enough rambling! All I can say is that I love the sport!
