Here at BDIPC HQ, we’re not averse to admitting our mistakes. And sweet baby Jesus, did we ever make a massive mistake last week. You see, as we were in the throes of TdF withdrawal we said, “Watching the Tour de Wallonie is like banging someone just to get over the breakup.” Apparently we’ve forgotten that the best way to get over someone is to get under someone. So when we tuned into San Sebastián on Saturday, we were horrified to see that we’d missed five days’ worth of quality rebounding with one Greg Van Avermaet, who won Wallonie and then quickly followed that up with a third-place finish at San Sebastián.
Greg, we’re not certain that we’re completely over the Tour de France. In fact, we’re pretty sure that the only thing that’s going to make us forget all about it is five days worth of the Tour de Greg. Because we know you can give us exactly what we need: just the right kind of long, pleasantly punishing rides. And really, that’s all we need: five days of hardcore, mind-erasing, headboard-breaking Van Avermaet-ing. So now you know how we feel, Greg. Are you down to rebound with us?
I think he’s one of the most attractive cyclists out there. And I even love the way he looks in his BMC kit with a nice tan. I like his racing style too, always giving it everything he’s got. Hopefully the rest of his season goes well!
So today Thor Hushovd announced he will be moving to BMC. It makes me wonder even more if Gilbert has/will sign with BMC. I love how they are such good friends and train together and support each other! When you see them together they are always smiling! I think seeing them on the same team would be great and I think they both are willing to work for each other when it comes to winning races!
Either way, I have always been a fan of Hushovd and he looks good (except when he’s racing against Tom Boonen). And of course who cannot love Gilbert? He’s got class and seems like a really nice guy (most of the time).
Anyway, I am interested to see how this plays out! Even if they do not ride together, it’s a great excuse to post these pictures of the two of them on Tumblr!

What’s a boy to do with so many jerseys to wear?

I loved his expression when he came back on the podium for a 2nd and 3rd time! As if he’s saying: ‘What do you know! I’m on the podium again! Surprise!’
Anyone else notice Greg Van Avermaet’s new haircut? I think it still looks good, but I preferred the longer hair! Though with the Spanish heat I can understand the need for a nice short haircut!
What happened to adding National Championship/World Championship bands to the sleeves?? BMC is not the only team that decided not to add them. I loved seeing them on riders because not only does it show what they have accomplished, but it makes them easier to recognize in a race!
Either way, Hushovd looks good in the BMC red. Hopefully he’ll have a good season with the new team!
BMC posted this picture on Facebook, saying that they fixed Hushovd’s jersey to now include World Champion stripes! Yay!
Not bad, Gregske.
*pulls bathrobe a bit less tight…* ahem… I should behave, right?
I like this very much. Very much indeed. Now if only Van Avermaet could show his good form as well during the Tour Down Under!
Happy birthday, Thor Hushovd!
Team BMC Birthday parties look like fun!
Phillipe Gilbert’s new SLR01.
Yes
The Belgian kit looks ridiculous, but the bike turns me on.
I like custom designed bikes, especially Belgian theme bikes :D
